Cognitive City Twins

Cognitive City Twins

The Cognitive City Twin (CCT) is a novel tool to empower city planners, policy makers and the community to better digitize, manage, track, and even predict strategies to reduce GHG emissions. The Cognitive City Twin enables cities to become climate resilient: through the ability to anticipate, prepare for, and respond to hazardous events, trends, or disturbances related to climate. At its core is a City Digital Twin developed inside Unreal Engine 5 as a photo-realistic, centimeter accurate, real-time data stream, virtual clone of a city. It serves as a management platform providing near real-time monitoring, evaluation and integration of various heterogeneous real-time data collected from buildings, factories, roads and public areas. The CCT also serves as a spatial visualization allowing the city and its inhabitants to interact directly with the CCT through computer screens and mobile devices, and even more uniquely through Virtual and Augmented reality headsets.
